It's important to respond quickly to every criticism you see. This is super vital. It's not a good idea to let a negative review to be unresponded to. If the critique was posted in a public discussion board, reply to that same thread and thank the person for his or her feedback. Tell him or her you're looking into it and ask them for permission to talk about their issues privately.

Say that you are going to investigate the matter and then ask for permission to contact the person in private. This gives proof that your big priority is the creation of the absolute best possible product and that you can take critique very well. This helps encourage respect from other individuals.

Actually check to see if the feedback is about something that needs to be remedied. People could tell the difference between trolls and truthful critique. "You suck" is not going to require a response.

You don't have to respond to "you suck." "I discovered a 404 page" or "the layout looks weird" are things you must have a look at. Check out everything and if something truly does need to be changed or fixed, alter or fix it. This shows to others that you're paying attention and will do something when action is needed.

Customize any answer you make. If you decide to make a change based on something someone has said, tell the person you take what they said to heart and are making things better. It's also good to put up a post or a response in the discussion board that says, in essence, the same thing. It shows that you don't have an anger response if you are criticized.

That demonstrates to everybody you can take constructive critique without getting upset. Additionally, it indicates to them that you will work as hard as you need to work to give them what they need. This is a good idea--even when you make your mind up not to make a change that's been requested. Inform them you checked things out but made the decision not to take action. Be sure you explain why this is.

Try to bear in mind, beyond anything else, the way in which you respond to opinions is about managing your reputation. If you fire back at someone for saying something negative about you, you look petty. If you dismiss criticism and simply keep insisting that everything is great, you will look like you do not know your business well.

If you pay no attention to peoples' criticism and try to insist that it is all great, you'll seem like you don't understand your own business all that well. Keep your pride in check. People, most of the time, are not attacking you personally. They had a frustrating experience with your product or service. You have to make your product better so they are not going to have the same experience later.

How you deal with criticism says a great deal about you and about your biz. You'll want to stay positive!
