Why Affiliate Marketers Switch Programs So Frequently

By Russell Howe

If you talk to any entrepreneurs or budding internet marketers about what's hot in the home business world right now you'll undoubtedly be bombarded with sales pitches about Empower Network and Skinny Body Care. However, three months ago you would have heard the same people talking about different opportunities. Today we'll be looking at one of the biggest reasons behind why so many affiliates fail to reach success... Program hopping!

Nine out of ten people who try to use the internet to become their own boss fail. That statistic should be enough to tell you that this isn't an easy career choice. However, more and more people are trying their hand at it every single day.

Unfortunately, there are a large number of individuals who view the internet as little more than a lottery ticket. They hope to find the next big thing and never do. These individuals can be seen joining affiliate program after affiliate program every couple of months. If you know anybody who is stuck in this frame of mind, you'll notice that each time you speak to them they are trying to convince you to join a new business and telling you it's the best thing out there.

Of course, the majority of people who try to create their own business in the real world fail as well. It's just that those figures are not published for all to see. The fact is you'll face a tough time if you are to achieve your ambitions. If you do not genuinely love your idea then it won't work. This is a major issue in affiliate programs, where many members have joined purely for the income opportunity. []

This is why most people trying to carve out a secondary income via the internet fail.

As much as the internet is responsible for creating the false image it has these days, some of the statements which surround home businesses are genuinely true. You don't need to have any qualifications or skills to succeed, that is a proven fact. However, rather than use this in a positive way you'll often see it used negatively as little more than a bid to attract those looking to become their own boss 'the easy way'.

In order to take advantage of any opportunity in life you must be prepared to push yourself hard. Many internet marketers simply hope to be in the right place at the right time, finding a company which promises to be 'the next Google' and then develop an automatic income without doing any work. This mentality is why they don't reach success. Two weeks later they have found another company and are now raving about that one. [

Companies also realize that they can create far more income for themselves if they target that sort of individual and take advantage of it. You could look at that approach and view it as harsh on those who continually fall for it, but when it comes down to the crunch business is business. The finances they generate from those who aren't genuinely serious can actually be as large as the one they generate from proper entrepreneurs.

Working for yourself is not supposed to be easy. Those who want to find an easy solution to their financial future are the ones who are often sucked into an endless cycle of joining different affiliate businesses but never making the most of any of them. Whether it's Empower Network, Global Domains International or Avon doesn't really matter. Even potentially lucrative programs are useless because you won't be able to make money online until you begin treating your business opportunity with the seriousness it deserves.
